VACATION/HOLIDAY CARE PROGRAM

 

Our Vacation Care Program runs during the school holidays the service opens 6:00am - 6:00pm during the holidays. Our routine during Vacation Care is different to Before and After School care our day runs something like this.

Daily Routine:

Morning Activities: (6:00am – 9:00am)

Children will engage in quiet indoor play to start the day. (Games, puzzles, colouring, blocks) Children will then make their way outside for some sandpit, active and free play.

Morning Tea: (9:00am – 9:30am)

Children will enjoy morning tea with their peers in a social setting. Children are to bring a packed morning tea.

Activities: (9:30am – 11:30am)

Structured and unstructured activities are organised each day some of which include craft projects, ball games, music, cooking, science, computers, dress-ups & free play. Some exciting excursions are planned for the children to experience i.e. skating, bowling, Harbour, cinema, and park.

Lunch: (12:00pm – 1:00pm)

Children will enjoy lunch with their peers in a social setting. Children can bring a packed lunch or for $4.50 we provide a cooked meal which the children help us to prepare. Children are encouraged to follow good hygiene practices.

Rest Period: (1:00pm – 3:00pm)

Following lunch children will have a rest period. As this is the hottest part of the day, children will take time out to watch a midday movie. No structured activities are planned at this time to allow children to rest. 

Afternoon Tea: (3:00pm – 3:30pm)

Afternoon tea is provided within the program which consists of various nutritional menu options.  Water is always accessible to the children and they are encouraged to drink regularly.  Children must wash hands before having afternoon tea.

Afternoon Activities: (3:30pm – 5:30pm)

Structured and unstructured, indoor and outdoor activities are organised each afternoon some of which include painting, play dough, computers, sport, dancing, dress-ups, blocks and construction activities.
